We teach an intuitive, integrative practice that focuses on heart centered movement, breathwork and meditation. Our Reiki practitioner and aromatherapy complement and combine with the physical practices to offer an energetically nourishing container for the process of healing to unfold. Sessions aim to encourage a positive relationship between self and body. Strava Living Well hopes to hold space and provide support for clients to trust themselves as they move through their life’s journey.

Meditation & Mindfulness
Mindfulness means fully focusing on the present moment - including your thoughts and emotions. Mindfulness is a form of meditation; it helps one to connect to what is going on around them and focus on them, including feelings associated with stress, anxiety or loneliness. Research shows that mindfulness and meditation can offset age-related cognitive decline. Not only does it activate the feel good prefrontal cortex but it may improve focus, creativity and cognitive function.

Restorative Yoga
A beautiful passive practice that calms and quiets the mind while restoring the body. Supported by bolster, blocks and blankets, the body is able to release into a deep state of relaxation and rest. Widely researched and documented evidence show that engaging the parasympathetic nervous system has several benefits. This practice facilitates inner peace and renewal at a cellular level. Strava Living Well offers private and small group classes allowing for individual care and attention.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for sensory and therapeutic benefits. As we age, we might lose our sense of smell. But aromatherapy is not dependent on our sense of smell. Molecules still travel through the nasal passage to the limbic system, and the results are the same whether or not one can actually smell the oil. The limbic system supports a variety of functions, including emotion, behaviour, motivation, long-term memory, and olfaction.

Reiki
A Japanese energy healing therapy, profoundly affects seniors. It is a supplemental treatment if used in unison with other therapies and is a beneficial strategy to control symptoms and enhance general health. The Reiki practitioner can channel energy into the clients’ body by touch and non touch. It’s used to stimulate the natural healing abilities of one’s body to improve physical and mental-well being.

Crystal Sound Healing
A practice that uses sound and vibrations in order to relax and heal the body. 60 percent of an adult’s body is composed of water, which is a good conductor of sound and vibrations. Each and every cell in our body absorbs sound in our body. Sound healing is non-invasive and takes the recipient to a deep level of relaxation and then the healing process starts.
