  • Falls Prevention

    The prevention of injuries due to falls is a critical component in senior health and maintaining quality of life. Strava Living Well offers tools and skills that can be put into place to mitigate those risks. Strava Living Well focuses on a step by step evidence based process for developing an individualized fall prevention plan for those living at home

  • Medication Management

    Aging can affect the way we process prescriptions and over the counter drugs. Because of the number of medications and body changes, older adults are at a higher risk of medication errors including side effects, increasing risk of drug interaction, and accidentally missing or double dosing. Cognitive changes can make it difficult for someone to take their medication as prescribed. Medication management is a set of practices to prevent these things from happening.

  • Home Safety

    Making sure your home is safe as you get older is an important part of staying healthy and maintaining your independence. Strava Living Well uses a checklist and action plan to help identify and address potential issues in your home which will help prevent falls and other accidents occurring.

  • Healthy Eating

    We provide current, evidence based healthy eating advice and guidance around foods to prioritize during the aging process. We assist with putting specific dietary changes into practice and monitor progress. As older adults make changes to eating habits, we offer support and accountability along the way. Concerns regarding access to adequate resources for acquiring appropriate foods for a nutritious diet are also be addressed.

  • Care Aide/ PSW Best Practices

    The care and expertise of care aides, make it possible for older adults to fulfill their desire to live safely and independently at home. Strava Living Well offers specialized training in falls prevention, dementia strategies, and best practices to broaden the skill set of home care aides and recognize their crucial role in improving their client’s quality of life.

  • Dementia Competency

    Strava Living Well facilitates discussions between the family and care aid when they are experiencing behaviour changes in their dementia clients. Strategies are explored to empower the caregiver and build awareness and insight into the meaning behind behaviour.
